We got the private tour and were still able to browse the exhibit at our own pace. Even though the place was closed at first, the nice ladies at the tourist office across the street phoned the lady responsible for the museum, and she was there to open the museum for us within minutes. The windmill has a nice collection of historic pieces related to the Dutch settling in this town. The museum next door shows what life was like for the Acadians (Cajuns).

Great place to learn Nederland history.
It was a wonderful experience to see all of the history at the Texas Ritter Park.It brought back a lot of my childhood memories of watching his movies and songs, I used to come from school watch his movies and listen to him sing while I did my homework. I highly recommend going to this Park.I'm one of the ones that had to evaluate Beaumont,Texas had to get rescue by boat and It really heiped me forget my problems for a little while. I want to thank each and everyone there,everyone was so kind. ( Thank you from the bottom of my heart)
